There is enough to do easily filling 2 weeks. If you are into surfing then Woolacombe beach maybe all you'll need. The two sets of RNLI Lifeguard pass by at 9.45am to set up on the beach from 10am till 6pm. The beach is ideal for bodyboarding and there are shops to sell or hire equipment at the stream and at the village ends of the beach.

According to Locals Longboarding is better at Saunton sands a 3 mile beach the other side of Putsborough & Baggy point and the south end of Woolacombe sands. Many say its better than Fistral, it is certainly more spacious. Croyde lies between with its beach vollyball courts and fine sand

Crow point is at the south end , the other side of the estuary to the sandy shore at Instow where parking is free. The further you go from Saunton end the quieter it gets, You will have the beach to yourself even in high season. Indeed Easter 2009 we had the beach to ourselves.

Recommended Days Out !

the BIG sheep at Bideford for a family day out . The outside laser shoot is great.

Exmoor Zoo as a good value day out and maybe the Milky way for a wet days outing.

Dinosaur park is also fun ....or a trip to Lundy .

Pot painting at Braunton maybe?

Dry days use the Bikes to run downhill off road from the bungalow to Ilfracombe on the old train track and maybe visit the tunnel beach. Coming back is uphill but at 1/40 its not hard work and the sun will be glinting on the Lower Slade reservoirs which line the track near Ilfracombe.
